Shoppers Drug Mart locations in Ontario continue to report a significant number of COVID-19 cases in its employees with two more positive infections confirmed on Friday.

Throughout the week, Loblaws Canada says 14 Shoppers Drug Mart employees have tested positive, with some cases coming out of several Toronto and GTA locations.

Notably, there have been 22 COVID-19 cases confirmed at Shoppers Drug Mart locations since Oct. 24.

“In all of our stores, we encourage our colleagues and employees to wear masks, particularly where physical distancing is not always possible,” Loblaws Canada said.

“Many local government authorities have mandated that our staff and customers wear masks within our stores. In addition, we have mandated that our staff and customers wear masks in Extra Foods, Fortinos, Maxi, no-frills, Real Canadian Superstores and T&T stores across Canada.”

It’s unclear if any of these aforementioned locations were forced to close.

The province of Ontario has been offering appointment-only COVID-19 testing at as many as 60 pharmacies dating back to late Sept.
