Canada’s top doctor, Doug Ford declare Santa Claus an essential worker ahead of Christmas

Ho Ho Hold the phone.

Santa Claus has been given the official O.K. from Ontario Premier Doug Ford and Canada’s top doctor to do his job on Christmas eve.

Canada’s chief medical officer of health Dr. Theresa Tam had a video chat with the jolly old elf on Wednesday.

Tam declared Santa an essential worker ahead of the holidays.

Saint Nick also took a minute to assure kids across the country that he’s in tip-top shape and ready for the task at hand, which is, of course, delivering gifts.

“I have a message for all the kids in Canada, too. I know some of you are worried about me, but I am well. In fact, I am feeling great,” Claus said.

“Mrs. Claus and I have been self-isolating, in fact, we have been doing it for years. Many, many years.”

On Thursday, Ford echoed Tam’s sentiments also characterizing the man in red as an essential worker.

“As Premier, I have officially designated Santa Claus as an essential service provider and authorized to deliver toys, treats, and good cheer to the children of Ontario,” Ford said in a statement.

Claus says he’s had custom masks made that properly fit his beard and that the ‘good list‘ of children is a long one this year.

Tam finished off the conversation by wishing everyone in Canada a very happy holiday season.
