Toronto police responded to 11 large gathering calls on Tuesday night, charges laid

It was a busy night for Toronto police on Tuesday, when officers were dealing with people not following the stay-at-home orders.
Police Chief James Ramer tweeted Wednesday morning his officers responded to several calls for noisy parties.
Toronto police confirmed they received 11 large gathering calls that night — only two incidents saw charges laid.

One in Scarborough, in the area of Lawrence Avenue East and Victoria Park before 11:30 p.m., one person was charged under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act.
The second was early Wednesday morning, before one o’clock at Don Mills and Eglinton Avenue. Eight people were charged under the Reopening Ontario Act.
Six of the calls saw no violations committed. Three where people had left on arrival.
