Police identify man found shot to death in Danforth high rise parking garage

Toronto police have identified a man who was found shot to death in the underground parking garage of a high rise building in the east Danforth area on Tuesday night.

The victim has been identified as Harry Lainas, 47, of Toronto.

Toronto police and paramedics were called to the garage in the Danforth and Oak Park avenues area shortly after 10:30 p.m.

Police say the victim was spotted by a passerby and when crews arrived they found Lainas unconscious.

Paramedics began performing CPR but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say shell casings were found nearby and the homicide unit has taken over the investigation.

There is no word on suspects at this time.
