Woman hospitalized after Mississauga apartment fire

One woman was taken to hospital after being injured in an apartment fire in Mississauga. The cause of the fire has not been determined.

A woman has been taken to hospital for smoke inhalation after an apartment fire in Mississauga.

Police said they were called to the building near Hurontario Street and Glenn Hawthorne Boulevard shortly before 2 p.m. Tuesday

According to witnesses, the fire started on the seventh floor of the building. Fire crews were actively battling the blaze, but it appears to have been put out and crews are beginning to clear the scene.

Peel Paramedics say the female patient was taken to a local hospital in non-life threatening condition.

No one else has been taken to hospital, but several people were assessed at the scene.
