An 89-year-old man has died after being pinned between two vehicles downtown Wednesday afternoon.

Officers were called to the scene on Murray Street in front of Princess Margaret Cancer Centre around 2:30 p.m.

Police said the victim was exiting the hospital and stepped in between two stopped cars that were in the patient pick-up and drop-off driveway. As he stepped between the cars, one of the vehicles moved forward and struck the man.

He was pinned between the car and a stationary minivan that had been in front of the other vehicle.
