Man seriously injured in Mississauga stabbing

A man was taken to hospital with serious injuries after he was stabbed in Mississauga on Tuesday afternoon.
Police said they were called to a scene near Nelson and Queen streets in Brampton around 2:30 p.m.
The man was stabbed in Mississauga but found in Brampton and it is unclear how he travelled to the second location, according to police.
The victim was rushed to a trauma centre by Peel paramedics. His condition was initially considered critical, but in an update police said his injuries are non life-threatening.
Police say the incident began with a verbal altercation between the victim and a group of people when one suspect stabbed victim and fled the scene along with the rest of the group.
The stabbing is considered targeted and while it is unclear what the altercation was about, police believe it was not hate motivated.
