Gardiner fully closed this weekend for annual maintenance

A major heads up for drivers as the Gardiner Expressway will be closed this weekend for its annual maintenance.
The city says the roadway will be shut down starting 11:00 p.m. Friday until 5:00 a.m. Monday morning.
The city’s transportation department says closing the Gardiner for 54 hours over a weekend is the equivalent of more than 30 lanes closures to do the same amount of work.
They also announced that the annual weekend maintenance closure of the Don Valley Parkway is expected to take place from 11:00 p.m. on August 6 until 5:00 a.m. on August 9.
Crews regularly perform spring or fall maintenance every few years on the Gardiner Expressway.
