Police identify man killed in east end altercation

Police have identified a man who was killed in an altercation in the east end of Toronto last week.

Officers were called to Gerrard Street between River Street and Broadview Avenue just before 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 28, 2021.

Police say a man was found on the scene with stab wounds. He was transported to a trauma centre in critical condition where he died of his injuries.

He’s been identified as Yan Qing Sun, 51, of Toronto.

Shalender Singh, 34, of Toronto, is facing a single count of first-degree murder.
