A 15-year-old boy is facing charges after another teen was stabbed inside a North York school on Tuesday.

Toronto police were called to George S. Henry Academy on Graydon Hall Drive near Don Mills Road just after 1:40 p.m.

Police said a 16-year-old boy was walking in the school’s hallway when he was approached by the other teen. They got into an argument, which led to the 16-year-old being stabbed.

The victim made his way to hospital and is currently in stable condition.

Police said the 15-year-old fled the area but was arrested a short time later. He has been charged with Carry Concealed Weapon, Aggravated Assault, Assault with a Weapon, and Weapons Dangerous. He is expected to appear in court on Wednesday.

Both teens are believed to be students.

The Toronto District School Board said the school was in lockdown while police investigated. After the lockdown was lifted, students were let out of class.

School is expected to resume Wednesday and board officials said social workers and councillors will be available to students.
