Ontario is reporting 328 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday with four more deaths.

It’s the ninth straight day that the province has reported fewer than 500 new daily cases.

There were 373 new cases reported on Monday.

Of Tuesday’s new cases, 223 are in people who are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status, while 105 are in fully vaccinated people.

Of the 260 people currently hospitalized with COVID-19, Minister of Health Christine Elliott tweeted that 225 are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown status. Thirty-five are fully vaccinated.

While much of the province’s focus has been on COVID-19, Elliott announced Tuesday that Ontario would roll out “one of the largest flu immunization campaigns in the province’s history” starting in November.

The Ford government is investing over $89 million to secure more than 7.6 million flu vaccine doses this year – this includes 1.8 million doses that will be prioritized for seniors. Last year, the province secured approximately 6.2 million total doses.

“It is safe to receive the COVID-19 vaccine and the flu shot at the same time, so if you’re receiving your flu shot and still have yet to receive a first or second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, now is the time,” Elliott said.
