Police search for suspects in $11M silver heist

Toronto Police are on the hunt for multiple suspects involved in the theft of $11 million worth of pure silver.

Police say the silver bars were stolen from a shipping container in Montreal in January 2020, and has since been partially recovered in Toronto, British Columbia and Massachusetts, USA.

The original silver had several distinctive stamp markings including a serial number and “Korea Zinc”, but investigators fear that some of the silver was smelted into ingots to avoid suspicion when selling.

Police are asking anyone who may have received silver or silver by-products from the stolen shipment to come forward.
