Ontario reports more than 300 COVID-19 cases, 10 new deaths

Ontario is reporting 321 new COVID-19 cases and 10 additional deaths on Wednesday.

Of the new infections, 203 cases are in individuals who are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status, 118 are in fully vaccinated individuals.

The rolling seven-day average increases slightly to 366, it is the first time that number has gone up in more than three weeks. The average is down 41 cases from one week ago.

The province is reporting another 384 resolved cases, dropping the active case count to 2,978, the first time it has dropped below 3,000 since Aug. 12.

Health Minister Christine Elliott says 215 people are hospitalized with COVID-19. Among them, 188 are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and 27 are fully vaccinated.

There were 30,776 tests completed in the last 24-hour period for a test positivity rate of 1.4 per cent.

The province administered another 21,761 vaccine doses in the last 24-hour period. There are now 88.0 per cent of Ontarians 12 and older who have received at least one dose, nearly 84.1 per cent are now fully vaccinated.
