Police issue road safety tips ahead of Sunday’s ‘fall back’ time change

We gain an extra hour of sleep this weekend, but we also lose some daylight.

The clocks fall back an hour at 2 a.m. Sunday. The return to Standard Time will mean brighter mornings but it will get dark before 5 p.m.

Police are reminding all road users to be extra cautious as we adjust to the time change.

Toronto police said historically, there’s been a 30 per cent increase in pedestrian-involved collisions in the weeks surrounding the time change.

So far this year, 49 people have died on the city’s roads — 12 of them being pedestrians.

Police issued the following safety tips for drivers, pedestrians, cyclists and anyone using the roadways:
