Raptors’ Pascal Siakam makes season debut vs. Nets

By Sportsnet Staff

Pascal Siakam will make his season debut for the Toronto Raptors against the Brooklyn Nets.

Siakam will be in the starting five alongside Fred VanVleet, Gary Trent Jr., Scottie Barnes and OG Anunoby.

Siakam underwent surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder in June and was expected to be out of game action for five months. In 56 games last season, the 27-year-old averaged 21.4 points and 7.2 rebounds a game for the Raptors.

Forward Sam Dekker was placed on waivers by the Raptors Sunday in a move that gets the team below the luxury tax threshold before his contract was guaranteed for the season.

The Raptors host the Nets at 3:30 p.m. ET on Sportsnet ONE and SN NOW.
