Rose White is pleading to her son to let her know he is ok after he was reported missing five days ago.
“I need you to come home. I need you to let me know you’re ok. Your brothers are asking for you. Your father doesn’t know what to do,” Rose told CityNews in an interview Monday.
Friends and family have searched far and wide for Raheem White, who was last seen on December 1. Loved ones say it is entirely out of character to go this long without contacting anyone.
Rose, currently in the Caribbean where she lives, wants answers. “My son has never gone this many days without contacting us.”
On December 1, Rose said she received a message from his girlfriend, saying there were “issues with Raheem,” and they had filed a missing person’s report.
According to Toronto Police, Raheem was last seen on December 1 at 3 p.m. in the Osler Street and Pelham Avenue area.
His family said he was at work that day, and his wallet and work truck were later located.
“By 4 p.m., the truck is left abandoned. My child is nowhere to be found. Until today’s date, my son has not been seen or heard from,” said Rose. “My birthday was Friday. My son would never not call me on my birthday. That is something that would never happen in 26 years.”
Raheem is described as being six feet tall with an athletic build. He has brown hair in dreadlocks, brown eyes and was last seen wearing a black jacket, black pants, an orange toque and a black backpack. Raheem also has a palm tree tattoo on his left bicep, and a rose on his shoulder.
Media Officer for Toronto Police Const. Edward Park said they are concerned for his safety.
“We’re concerned for Raheem. This behaviour is not known for him. So we are trying our very best to use every possible avenue to locate this individual and assist.”
Rose said she last spoke with her son on November 29, and his rent was paid on time. She added he was set to resign from his job the next day and venture out on his own as a talented DJ and creative.
“Everything has been left intact at his home. Everything is clean and tidy, like someone is coming back home from work. Everything is normal, like nothing happened, but my son is still missing.”
The White family wants their son back home. “Come home. You don’t have to stay in Toronto. You can come where I am. You can go where you want to go,” pleaded Rose. “I love you, and everybody loves you. I’m so proud of you.”
Friends have been organizing searches for Raheem, posting flyers throughout the city and sharing his description widely across social media.
Police are asking anyone who has information or anyone who sees Raheem to contact them.
