Peel Public Health is warning the public of a possible COVID-19 exposure.
Health officials say anyone who attended an event at the Mississauga Convention Centre on December 2nd should immediately self-isolate and get tested.
“All attendees should get tested and must self-isolate until they receive a negative test result, regardless of vaccination status,” the health unit said in a statement.
“Given rapid spread of Omicron in Ontario, people who were at the event and developed any COVID-19 symptoms after December 2nd, must isolate for 10 days from the first day symptoms started, regardless of test result or vaccination status.”
It’s unknown how many people were at the event that took place between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. or how many cases have been traced back to the location.
Everyone seeking testing are asked to give testers the following outbreak number: 2253-2021-52829.
Public health officials say anyone who fails to self-isolate could be fined under a Section 22 Class Order.
