Man arrested inside Eaton Centre was carrying modified fully-automatic gun: Police Chief

Toronto police Chief James Ramer says a man arrested inside the Eaton Centre on Wednesday was carrying a loaded gun that had been modified to be fully automatic.

“Another dangerous weapon off the streets,” Ramer tweeted.

Police were initially called to the Yonge Street and Dundas Street West area for reports of a man making death threats.

The suspect was located and arrested inside the mall. That’s when police say they found the modified, fully-automatic Glock 22.

Police further allege the suspect was in possession of fentanyl and crack cocaine that was “packaged for sale.”

Isaac Roberts, 24, of no fixed address is facing a barrage of charges, including uttering threats, possession of a firearm, and possession of drugs for trafficking.

In total, he’s facing 13 charges.

In 2012, gunfire erupted in the Eaton Centre food court, killing two and injuring six others.

Christopher Husbands was convicted in the case and sentenced to life in prison.
