A second man turned himself into police custody in connection with a fatal motorcycle crash on Toronto’s Don Valley Parkway last summer.

A 39-year-old woman was killed in a late-night crash involving multiple motorcycles on May 31, 2021, near Don Mills Road.

A 2016 black Suzuki motorcycle struck a metal barrier, police said. One woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other men were seriously hurt but survived.

On February 8, Novel Yashaev, 41, of Toronto, turned himself to police. He faces several charges, including impaired operation causing death and dangerous operation causing death. Yashaev will appear in court on May 5.

In an update on Thursday, investigators said a second man, 35-year-old Volodymyr Liskovs’kyi of Toronto, also surrendered to police on February 8.

Liskovs’kyi faces a slew of similar criminal offences, including impaired operation causing death and a different charge of exceeding blood alcohol concentration causing death.

Liskovs’kyi’s court appearance is slated for May 11.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
