An investigation is ongoing after a pedestrian was struck and killed east of the Dixie GO station in Mississauga on Wednesday night.
Peel police say the fatal collision occurred around 7:45 p.m.
The 7:10 p.m. Milton-bound train was the last of the night and Metrolinx said arrangements were made to get the almost 300 stranded passengers on to their final destination.
“The train is currently idled, and we are working to evacuate the train and bring our customers back to Dixie GO,” said a Metrolinx spokesperson. “Once our passengers are at Dixie GO we have six buses that will help them continue on.”
This remains an ongoing investigation. #PRP will remain on scene. Our Forensic Identification Team will continue processing the scene in the daylight. Our scene impacts one rail line.
Thank you for your patience. Updates will be provided as we are able to share.

Train service resumed on the Milton Line for the Thursday morning commute but adjustments have been made due to the investigation.
Train service is running between Streetsville GO and Kipling GO. Customers at Erindale GO, Cooksville GO and Dixie GO travelling to Union Station can take GO bus service to Kipling GO. Metrolinx says customers at these stations can also take MiWay service to Clarkson GO or Port Credit GO, and connect with regular Lakeshore West service.
