Woman, 64, dead after being hit by truck near Finch and Hwy. 400

A woman is dead after she was struck by the driver of a transport truck in North York, police said.

Investigators were called to the area of Finch Avenue West near Highway 400 just after 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Police said that a 64-year-old woman was struck by the driver, a 39-year-old man, of a tractor-trailer in the curb lane.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Traffic Services have taken over the investigation, police said.

Officers are asking local residents, businesses, and drivers, who may have security or dash-camera footage of the area or incident, to come forward.
