Man struck, killed by vehicle in Brampton, investigation underway

A man in his 70s has died after being struck by a vehicle Thursday afternoon in Brampton, according to Peel police.
Officers were called around 6:30 p.m. for reports of a collision in the area of Bovaird Drive East and Kennedy Road North, where they found the man suffering with serious injuries.
Callers to the CityNews 680 traffic centre say the man was being given CPR from bystanders at the site. The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with police.
Police said the man was walking south when he was hit by the vehicle. A white truck was seen in the area, police have not confirmed if it was involved in the collision and there’s no word on what caused it.
The victim was rushed to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries, police said.
The Major Collisions Bureau has taken over the investigation.
