Toronto police said several arrests were made, and 66 charges have been laid in a substantial drug trafficking bust.
The investigation started in November 2021, and with the help of an undercover officer, they purchased three firearms and a quantity of powder cocaine from the alleged sellers.
Over 100 grams of Fentanyl were also seized during various search warrants, police confirmed, along with just under 550 grams of powdered cocaine, three loaded semi-automatic handguns, body armour, and over 50 grams of crack cocaine.
On April 5, three people were arrested and identified as 18-year-old Bardhi Kadriu, 20-year-old Umer Tanoli and 23-year-old Taha Yousuf Shaikh — all of Toronto.
Shaikh, 23, faces the most charges, including five counts of trafficking cocaine, five counts for the possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000, and three counts of knowingly possessing a restricted firearm. Altogether, the three men face up to 66 charges.
Kadriu, Tanoli and Shaikh made a court appearance on Tuesday.
