Officers responded to a call at the TTC station shortly after 9 p.m. on April 16, after getting reports of someone being assaulted.
Police allege two men were involved in a verbal altercation on the Bloor line 2 subway platform. The exchange resulted in one man punching the other numerous times.
The victim was left with serious injuries and the other man fled the scene.
The suspect is described as a man in his 20s, five-foot-seven inches tall, between 160 and 170 pounds, with a black beard. He was last seen wearing a black hooded winter jacket with a Canada Goose logo on the left shoulder, black pants and black shoes.
TTC vows to increase security after string of violence
The TTC has since said they would be increase the number of patrols by officers after a string of violent incidents at stations in April.
Police arrested a suspect two weeks ago after a man was stabbed in an apparent unprovoked attack at St. George Station. Following the incident the TTC said it was upping security at various stations, with “40 Special Constables strategically patrolling the system.”
A woman was pushed onto the subway tracks at Bloor-Yonge station on April 17, suffering a broken rib and narrowly escaping getting struck by a train.
Toronto police were searching for another suspect who allegedly robbed a victim after putting them in a chokehold and knocking them unconscious at Pioneer Village station in April.
