Toronto police identify man killed in early morning shooting, suspect photos released

Toronto police have identified the man killed following Saturday’s early morning shooting in Scarborough as 36-year-old Peter Oscar Khan of Ajax and released suspect photos.

Police say they were called to the parking lot of a plaza in the southwest corner of Morningside Avenue and Sheppard Avenue East just after 3 a.m.

Police indicated shots rang out after an altercation between two groups of men.

Two men were found suffering from gunshot wounds. A man in his 20s was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say they are now looking for a suspect, described as a 5’6″ male, Black and with a slim build. Officers say he was last seen wearing a light-coloured surgical mask, a shiny black puffer jacket with its hood up, light coloured pants, and with black running shoes.

Officers say a white coloured Nissan sedan has been identified as a suspect vehicle.

Police are asking anyone who has information about what happened or surveillance and dashcam footage in the area to contact officers or Crime Stoppers.

This is the city’s 25th homicide of the year.
