Multi-vehicle crash involving beer truck spills glass, ale on Gardiner Expressway

By Lucas Casaletto

All westbound lanes on the Gardiner Expressway have reopened near Dufferin after crews had to clean up a multi-vehicle collision involving a beer truck Friday afternoon. A CityNews traffic spotter reported a beer truck was rear-ended by a transport truck.

The accident also involved what appears to be a school bus.

“The vehicle is a tractor-trailer. He rear-ended a beer truck. The inside lane has glass all over it,” the caller said. “In front of the beer truck are three other vehicles involved.”

The multi-vehicle collision happened just after 1 p.m. Traffic spotters say the school bus had kids on board. There are no reported injuries.

“It was a chain reaction,” the caller added. “There are bottles of beer all over the highway here… There is glass. There is beer. It’s not good.”

The caller said that there appeared to be extensive damage to the tractor-trailer.
