2 dead, 8 others rescued after boat flips over on Lake Ontario overnight: Toronto police

Toronto police investigators say two people have died after a boat capsized while out on Lake Ontario near Tommy Thompson Park.
According to a statement, emergency crews responded after a boat going northeast into the harbour area hit a rock island breakwater not far from Ashbridges Bay at around 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
Officers said the boat capsized, prompting Toronto police and fire marine units to respond and begin a search.

Eight people were ultimately pulled from the water, but the statement said crews were told two others couldn’t be found.
After the boat was lifted out of the water, a 25-year-old woman and a 34-year-old man were found dead inside the vessel.
