A lockdown has been lifted at a Mississauga high school after police determined a student was walking around with a fake weapon.

Peel Regional Police were called to St. Aloysius Gonzaga Secondary School, in the Erin Centre Blvd. and Glen Erin Drive area, around 1:30 p.m.

Investigators located a student seen wandering around inside with a weapon that has since been deemed fake.

No injuries were reported, and no threats were made.

The lockdown at Gonzaga SS has been lifted. John Fraser Secondary School, located nearby, was placed in a Hold and Secure, which has also been terminated.

The investigation is ongoing. There were no arrests.

On Monday, a Toronto boarding school was briefly placed in lockdown after reports of threats were made.

A spokesperson for Branksome Hall said the lockdown ended after police determined that there was no immediate threat to students and staff.
