Victims in double homicide at Vaughan nightclub were working security: police

York regional police say two men shot and killed at a nightclub in Vaughan early Saturday morning were working as security guards at the time.

Police were called to the “ATL Lounge” at 2220 Highway 7, near Keele Street, around 3:30 a.m. for reports of a shooting.

When police showed up, they found three shooting victims. Two of them died.

They’ve been identified as Tosin Amos-Arowoshegbe, 25, of Toronto and Chibueze Momah, 22, of Mississauga.

A third person, a 20-year-old woman, was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

Police say an altercation that took place inside the club led to the “targeted” shooting.

“Investigators learned the two deceased victims were employed as security guards for ATL Lounge, and the female victim was a patron inside,” police said in a release.

The suspect fled the scene before police arrived. He’s described as Black, in his 30s, with a thin build wearing a white shirt.

A GoFundMe for both victims has been created by Momah’s cousin, Adam Abdul.

Abdul writes he was also a friend of Amos-Arowoshegbe, writing both victims were loved and cherished by many in the community.

“Eze and Tosin were both diligent workers who served as security guards for many lounges in Vaughan. Their story was only getting started as they had both recently graduated,” wrote Abdul.

“We love you Tosin and Eze and you will forever live on in our hearts.”

He says he hopes to raise $50,000 for each family to help with funeral costs.
