A Toronto man faces several drug-related charges after police raided his condo in Liberty Village and discovered several kilograms of cannabis and magic mushrooms.

On July 23, authorities executed a search warrant under the Cannabis Act and opened a drug investigation at a residential unit in the East Liberty Street and Pirandello Street area.

Police seized 84 pounds of marijuana, just over 10 pounds of psilocybin (magic mushrooms), more than 200 pounds of marijuana derivatives (cannabis oils and other products), and roughly five pounds of hash oil.

Officers arrested 25-year-old David Nguyen Ho of Toronto.

He faces several drug-related offences, including the intent to distribute over 30 kilograms of cannabis and possession of illicit cannabis.

Nguyen Ho appeared in court on Wednesday.

“There are still offences related to the sale and consumption of cannabis with penalties ranging from warnings and tickets for minor offences to criminal prosecution and imprisonment for more serious offences,” a Toronto police spokesperson said.

“Some offences specifically target people who make cannabis available to youth.”
