Toronto police are searching for a 26-year-old man wanted in connection with a violent assault in Etobicoke back in June.

Around 7:30 p.m. on June 15 of this year, police were called to the area of Dixon and Martin Grove roads for an assault.

Investigators say a man and a woman met at a park and then drove off in the man’s car. During the drive, the man allegedly threatened and assaulted the woman.

She managed to get out of the car but was then spotted by him a short distance away.

Police say he drove across lanes of traffic, mounted the curb and almost hit two pedestrians, in an attempt to get to her. He then allegedly assaulted her again.

Police have not said if the woman was injured in the incidents.

Salim Salhia, 26, of Toronto, is wanted for Assault, Assault Cause Bodily Harm, Uttering Threats, Dangerous Driving, and Breach of Probation.

Police say he is six feet three inches tall and 170 pounds, with a tanned complexion, and has a moustache and a beard.

Police believe he is hiding in the GTA and warn that anyone who is assisting him could face criminal prosecution.

Investigators say he is considered violent and dangerous, and anyone who spots him should call 911.
