A 31-year-old Kitchener man is facing numerous charges following a pair of hit-and-run incidents on Saturday.
Police say a Jeep Patriot was being driven eastbound on St. Clair Avenue West at Yonge Street when the driver struck a 26-year-old man on the west side of the intersection just before noon, then striking a 65-year-old man on the east side of the intersection before fleeing the area.
The 26-year-old was not seriously injured while the 65-year-old was transported to a trauma centre in life-threatening condition.
A short while later, the same driver struck a 25-year-old cyclist at Jarvis Street and Maitland Place before fleeing the area. The cyclist was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police say the vehicle and driver were later located approximately three kilometres away at Lower Jarvis and Queens Quay East.
Bachu Mathew is facing seven charges including failing to stop at the scene of an accident causing bodily harm, dangerous operation of a vehicle, and failing or refusing to comply with a breathalyzer request.
The investigation is ongoing and police are asking anyone with additional information or dash cam footage to contact police.
