Justin Bieber taking ‘break from touring,’ pauses world tour

Canadian pop superstar Justin Bieber has paused the remainder of his world tour on the heels of his recent Ramsay Hunt Syndrome diagnosis, citing exhaustion after his performances in Brazil.
Bieber had originally cancelled the remainder of his North American shows, including two Toronto concerts, due to his diagnosis. In a video, he explained the condition had caused partial facial paralysis, affecting the nerves in his ear and face.
He later resumed the world tour in Europe on July 31 in Italy.
The Stratford, Ont., native posted on Instagram Tuesday, saying he needed “make his health a priority” after playing six shows on his Justice world tour.
“I performed six live shows and it took a real tour on me,” read the Instagram story. “I’m going to take a break from touring for the time being. I’m going to be OK but I need time to rest and get better.”

He thanked his supporters in the post, adding, “I’ve been so proud to bring this show and our message of justice to the world.”
The tour was set to visit South America, South Africa, the Middle East, Asia, Australia and New Zealand. His last concert was played at Brazil’s Rock in Rio over the weekend.
It’s unknown whether he plans to resume the tour at some point. There were nearly 70 shows left to be played and was set to end on March 25.
According to New York’s Mount Sinai health system resource, Ramsay Hunt syndrome is a painful rash seen mostly in adults that occurs when the varicella-zoster virus infects a nerve in the head. It is the same virus that causes chickenpox and shingles.
Recovery can take a few weeks or longer if the damage is more severe.
