Woman critically injured in 1 of 3 separate shooting incidents

One woman suffered critical injuries in one of three separate shooting incidents in the GTA.

Police were called to a residential neighbourhood in the area of Eglinton Avenue West and Russell Road just before 8 a.m. Sunday.

Insp. Saleem Husain says a woman in her 20s was found with a gunshot wound to the stomach and taken to a trauma centre in life-threatening condition.

Area resident Carol Farone tells CityNews she heard the sound of gunshots and a scream.

“It’s a pretty quiet neighbourhood, really residential. Very rarely have we had anything like this ever happen here,” she said.

There is no suspect description at this time.

Bloordale Village

Elsewhere, police say they were called to an establishment in the area of Bloor Street West and Lansdowne Avenue just before 2 a.m.

When they arrived they found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds. They were taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Other people in the establishment were treated for injuries unrelated to the shooting.

No word if any charges have been laid or if police are searching for any suspects.

Entertainment District shooting

The third incident took place in the area of University Avenue and Adelaide Street West just before 5:30 a.m.

Police say they located a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the stomach.

He was taken to a nearby trauma centre in serious condition.

No suspect description has been provided at this time.
