Cyclist critically injured after getting struck by vehicle in Mississauga

A cyclist is in hospital in critical condition after getting struck by a vehicle in Mississauga on Thursday morning.

Police responded to a crash involving a person on a bike and a vehicle in the area of Hurontario Street and Steeles Avenue around 6:20 a.m.

Paramedics say the cyclist, a man in his 50s, was transported to hospital in critical condition. Police say the victim was conscious and breathing when they arrived on scene.

The vehicle involved remained at the scene of the crash. Police say charges will be laid for the female driver.

Steeles is shut down in both directions at Hurontario for the investigation.
