Husband charged in fatal stabbing of wife, 22, in Mississauga Canadian Tire

Peel regional police say a 22-year-old woman fatally stabbed in Mississauga this week was allegedly murdered by her husband of three years.

Authorities were called to a retail store for reports of a stabbing in the Mavis Road and Britannia Road area around 6 p.m. on Monday.

The woman, identified by police as 22-year-old Chandanpreet Kaur, was pronounced dead at the scene.

      Her husband, 26-year-old Charanjeet Singh of Mississauga, was arrested and taken into custody.

      He has since been charged with first-degree murder and appeared in court on Tuesday.

      Singh was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

      Investigators said the violent incident happened inside a Canadian Tire.
