2 dead, 1 critical in Markham crash involving dump truck

York regional police confirm two people were killed, and one woman is in critical condition, following a car crash involving a dump truck in Markham.
It happened at the corner of Markham Road and Elson Street just after 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
A 21-year-old male driver and a 23-year-old female passenger were pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say a third front passenger, a 52-year-old woman, was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, where she remains in critical condition.
The dump truck driver, a 46-year-old man, was not injured.
It’s not yet clear what caused the crash or if any charges are pending.
