Man, 28 fatally stabbed during fight outside Ajax bar, suspect arrested

A 33-year-old man is under arrest after another man was fatally stabbed during a fight outside an Ajax bar early Saturday morning.

Police were called to the parking lot of King’s Castle Bar & Grill, in the area of Westney Road and Lake Driveway, around 2 a.m. for reports of an altercation between two men.

One man allegedly pulled out a knife during the fight and began stabbing the other man.

The victim was brought to hospital where they were pronounced dead.

While police are withholding the name of the victim at the request of his family, an Instagram post by the Tamil Eelam Football Association identified him as 28-year-old Arun Vigneswararajah.

On Sunday, police charged Chard Patrick of Ajax with second-degree murder.

Investigators say Patrick was the individual who was struck and injured in the parking lot immediately after the stabbing took place. He is listed in hospital in stable condition.

The driver of the vehicle has been charged with dangerous operation causing bodily harm. Police say he is not directly involved in the fatal stabbing.
