2 critically hurt after shooting, crash in Scarborough; gunman sought

A man and a woman are in critical condition and police are searching for a suspect after a shooting and crash in Scarborough on Tuesday evening.

Toronto police initially responded to reports of a collision near Warden Avenue and Hymus Road around 7:30 p.m. Investigators say a single vehicle had crashed into a parked pickup truck.

A woman was located beside the vehicle with gunshot wounds. She was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries but is now in stable condition.

Police believe shots may have been fired inside the vehicle causing it to lose control. Investigators say two men ran from the scene following the crash.

A second victim — believed to be one of the men who fled the scene — walked into a local hospital with gunshot wounds and was rushed to a trauma centre with life-threatening injuries.

Police are still trying to locate the third person who ran from the scene who may or may not be the gunman.

The suspect has been is described as an adult male who was last seen wearing a black top, blue jeans, a long white t-shirt hanging below the black shirt, and black shoes.
