Suspect, vehicle of interest sought in Whitby stabbing

Durham regional police have released additional photos of a male suspect wanted in connection with a stabbing in Whitby last week that critically injured a 51-year-old man.

Around 6:30 a.m. on Dec. 2, police were called to the area of Dunlop Street East and Brock Street South for a stabbing.

When police arrived, they found the victim with life-threatening injuries. He was rushed to a Toronto-area hospital.

Police say the suspect fled eastbound from Dunlop Street. He is described as short with a small build, wearing all black clothing, including an Adidas T-shirt underneath his jacket and white shoes.

On Saturday, police released this security camera image below of the suspect.

In an update on Thursday, investigators also released photos of a vehicle of interest, which is described as a black, four-door cross-over.

Police continue to look into the circumstances that led to the stabbing.
