A 13-year-old boy and a man are in hospital with serious injuries after the vehicle they were travelling in was struck by a TTC bus in North York late Monday night.
The collision occurred at Bathurst Street and Haddington Avenue, south of Highway 401, just before midnight.
Police say a car was T-boned by a bus that was travelling northbound on Bathurst. The impact sent the vehicle crashing into a tree.
Two people inside the car, a 39-year-old male adult driver and a 13-year-old boy, were sent to the hospital. Witnesses say crews had to use the jaws of life to extract the pair from the vehicle.
Police say the man has life-threatening injuries while the boy is in intensive care with serious injuries.
There were no passengers on the bus at the time of the crash. Traffic Services have taken over the investigation.
Bathurst was closed in both directions at Haddington for the investigation but has since reopened.
