Suspect arrested after trying to push person onto subway tracks at Bloor-Yonge station

Toronto police say a man has been been arrested after they tried to push a person onto the subway tracks at Bloor-Yonge station on Friday afternoon.
Police were called just before 12:30 p.m.
A short time later, police said a man in his 50s was arrested at Rosedale station.
There is no word on charges at this point.
No injuries were reported and police have yet to confirm if they have spoken with the victim in this case.
The TTC credited a janitor with aiding in a quick arrest.
“The fast arrest was thanks to the quick-thinking of a TTC janitor who saw and immediately reported the incident,” TTC Media Relations tweeted.
The TTC says the suspect was identified by staff and the train he was on was held at Rosedale station where he was arrested.
Incident occurred at Bloor Station.
Thankfully no injuries.

The incident happened around an hour after police say an elderly woman died of her injures after she was pushed to the ground on the sidewalk at Yonge and King streets.
A male suspect fled the scene but he was taken into police custody a short time later.
Police said the two incidents are not connected.
