12 residents displaced after fire in Carleton Village area

The Toronto fire department responded to fire just south of Davenport Road and east of Old Weston Road, the Carleton Village area, at 1:43am.
A semi-detached residential home had a fire on one side in the basement, but the fire spread through the house moving to the ceiling, walls and getting into the attic.Smoke also moved into the adjoining unit.
The fire was put out around 3:30 a.m., though 12 residents were displaced from the property including 2 children who are now seeking temporary shelters. No injuries were reported in the incident.
Toronto fire will investigate as there is currently no known cause of origin of the fire. Responders remain on the scene to ensure there are no hot spots.
