Three 15-year-old boys from the GTA were arrested and charged after an alleged carjacking at gunpoint in Rexdale.

Just before 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, Toronto police officers were notified of an armed robbery in the the Rexdale Boulevard and Humberwood Boulevard area.

Police said three boys wearing masks approached as the victim entered their vehicle. One of the youths flashed a handgun and demanded the victim’s car keys and property.

The boys then forcefully removed the victim from the vehicle and struck them over the head with the handgun. The three suspects took some cash and lottery tickets but were unable to get the vehicle keys and fled the area on foot.

Responding officers searched the area and located the three boys, who were taken into custody.

A 15-year-old from Brampton, and two 15-year-olds from Mississauga, were charged with armed robbery, disguise with intent, and conspiracy to commit an indictable offence. They appeared in court on Sunday.

The three boys were not identified due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
