Man charged with murder in east Toronto hit-and-run that killed former child actor

Toronto police have arrested and charged a man with first-degree murder after a 25-year-old former child actor was struck and killed by the driver of a vehicle in the east end last weekend.
Officers were called to Danforth and Cedarvale avenues, just east of Woodbine Avenue, before 4 a.m. on Sunday for reports of a collision.
Investigators claimed the victim was drinking at a bar in the area as a suspect was speaking with people outside the business. It’s alleged the suspect left, went into a vehicle and deliberately drove it into the victim as he was walking on a sidewalk.

The man, identified as 25-year-old Toronto resident Gabriel del Castillo Mullally, was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries a short time later and died. Police were investigating the act as a homicide.
On Friday, officers arrested 24-year-old Ryan Andrews of Toronto. He’s been charged with first-degree murder and will appear in court on Feb. 16.
The victim was previously employed as a child actor, according to “IMDb,” appearing in the 2011 feature film Amy George, in which Gabriel del Castillo Mullally played Jesse. He also starred in the 2013 short film Tati.
