Man dies after fire at Brampton highrise apartment

One man is dead after a fire broke out at an apartment building in Brampton.

Emergency crews responded to the fire at a building near Kennedy and Tullamore roads, south of Clarence Street, around 8:20 a.m. on Monday.

Peel police confirmed a man was pronounced dead at the hospital after being transported with life-threatening injuries.

There is no word how the fire started.

Police are asking motorists to avoid the area.
