A gas leak has occurred near the Rosebank Drive and Markham Road area due to a vehicle hitting a fence and a gas line.
Toronto police and fire services arrived on scene shortly after 2:00 p.m. on Monday as nearby buildings had to evacuate due to the gas leak.
Those impacted by the evacuations were offered shelter at a nearby daycare but have been told they can return to their homes.
Enbridge, a national gas company, says it could take a few hours to stop the leak as they must dig to reach the valve to turn off the gas.
There are no reported injuries from the incident and roads have re-opened in the area.
