Toronto police are hoping to identify a man wanted for attempting to lure a child into his van west of the city.
Investigators say the alleged incident happened on Tuesday around 4:15 p.m. in the Jane Street and Weatherell Street area near Bloor West Village.
Police said a man approached a child and asked if they wanted to see his dog. It’s reported that the man did not have a dog with him but informed the child that the pet was in his van.
When the child told the unknown man they were going to tell one of their parents, police said he got into his van and drove away northbound on Jane Street. The child was not physically injured.
The man is described as having a tanned complexion, around 50 years old, with a chubby build and long wavy grey/white hair with a bald spot. He was wearing a blue/turquoise jacket.
His vehicle is described as a silver Honda minivan, possibly an older model Odyssey, dirty, with tinted windows and no licence plates attached.
