16-year-old boy charged in shooting near Eglinton and Keele

Toronto police have arrested a 16-year-old boy in connection with a shooting in the Eglinton West neighbourhood.

Emergency crews were called to Eglinton Avenue West and Glenhaven Street near Keele Street just before 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

When officers arrived at the scene they found a man with gunshot wounds. He was rushed to hospital in critical condition but is expected to survive.

Police said the suspect and the victim know each other.

The teen has been charged with aggravated assault, discharging a firearm, possession of a firearm, and possession of a prohibited device.

Investigators also recovered a loaded gun.
