4th suspect arrested in kidnapping of Elnaz Hajtamiri

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested a fourth suspect in the kidnapping case of Elnaz Hajtamiri, who was forcibly taken from a home in Wasaga Beach in 2022 and remains missing.

Police say Adams Suleman Ankamah, 29, of Brampton, was arrested on Wednesday, May 24, in connection to Hajtamiri’s abduction.

He’s facing a charge of kidnapping, numerous gun charges, and one count of possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

He’s being held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court in Barrie on June 1.

Police say an outstanding arrest warrant has been issued for a fifth suspect in the case — Deshawn Davis, 35, of Toronto.

Hajtamiri was forcibly removed from a home in Wasaga Beach by three suspects dressed in police gear on Jan. 12, 2022.

She was 37 at the time of the abduction.

The suspects fled with Hajtamiri in what is believed to be a white Lexus RX SUV.

The OPP and York Regional Police have jointly offered a $100,000 reward for information leading to the missing woman’s whereabouts.

Hajtamiri is described as around five foot three, with a slim build and shoulder-length black hair that was cut shorter before she was abducted.

A few weeks before her abduction, on Dec. 20, 2021, Hajtamiri was attacked at an underground parking garage on King Wiliam Crescent in the Yonge Street and Bantry Avenue area

Investigators say she was assaulted with a frying pan by a group of men, one allegedly her ex-boyfriend, Mohammad Lilo.

Lilo was charged with attempted murder and attempted kidnapping for his role in planning the attack.

He is also facing charges in connection with her kidnapping.
